The Future of Education Consortium developed by the Cambridge-based Centre for Business Innovation (CfBi) and European Diplomats kicks off its second year on September 10 in Cambridge. After a successful previous meeting in Berlin in July, the Consortium is back in the city where it was created a year ago, with fresh faces and new ideas on board.
The Consortium was created to build a vibrant community of professionals to come together to pitch, explore and discuss ways to reshape, modernise and grasp the opportunities and challenges in the field of education. The educational technology (EdTech) industry presents a reservoir of potential, attracting stakeholders from various domains and pushing for broadening access to education and modernising learning methods. Projections show that the EdTech market could be worth $400 million by 2030.
An increasing youth population, stronger integration of technology, and investments from seasoned corporations and EdTech start-ups have spurred the drive to tap into the strong potential of cross-border collaboration for the future of education. Yet challenges and questions persist in reducing inequalities, joblessness and access to quality educational facilities, that go beyond classroom space and are entrenched in wider regional and societal constraints.
How will the classroom of tomorrow function? What are the integral facets of students' holistic learning going to be? What will be the global approaches to AI's integration in education? And what of tomorrow's job market prospects? These are a few of the many questions the Consortium looks to address.
The Consortium will welcome an exciting group of participating professionals, hailing from Europe, the UK and Canada, who have expertise in teaching, career mentoring, technology and business development. It will serve as a platform for participating members to network, collaborate and share their projects and propositions to lead discussions on innovative learning practices. With the CfBi's two-decade experience in running various consortia and European Diplomats' expertise in institutional relations and diplomatic networks, the Future of Education Consortium offers a platform for producing viable outcomes on relevant themes that align with the UN's SDG for advancing education globally.
The Consortium's meeting in Cambridge will be hosted by Anglia Ruskin University. It will include networking sessions, workshops, project presentations by members, a tour of Anglia Ruskin University and a Gala Dinner at Westminster College. In addition to the meeting of the Consortium on September 10, members have access to the Cambridge Innovation Summit on September 11, organised by the CfBi which includes wider discussions on topics like AI, energy, healthcare and the future of education.
Carrying on from the previous edition, the Future of Education looks to build transformative collaborations between stakeholders in identifying ways to advance education practices with the changing times. The Consortium will continue to build long-term relations between members and link opinion leaders, practitioners and policymakers to adopt decisive solutions as a force for impactful change.
