ideaSpace - Building a Business with Ken Roberts from Audiotelligence

Join us to learn about some of the fundamentals of building a business. Whether you’re thinking of starting a business, aspiring to be an entrepreneur or you have already begun the journey, this event provides an opportunity to hear from a successful entrepreneur and three professionals who have been integral to the success of their company.

The Building a Business series showcases ideaSpace founders and the professional service providers that have been a crucial help to them along the way. They will discuss how to approach typical startup challenges and what they think is important for early stage entrepreneurs to know.

We are thrilled to have Ken Roberts, CEO & Founder of AudioTelligence to co-host this event with us. Ken will introduce:

John Hall, Chief Executive at Duet Partners - a company which helps early stage Tech companies raise capital and grow. John will share his experience of preparing for the first institutional capital raise and identifying the right investors for your Start-up.

Jan Willis, Executive Advisor at Calibra - providing B2B technology marketing and business development based in Silicon Valley and the UKExecutive Advisor at Calibra. Jan believes networking is essential for building a strong personal and company brand - but not everyone is good at it! Jan has some tips to share on how to build that network.

Inger Anson, Corporate Partner at HCR Hewitsons - solicitors. Inger will be covering some early stage do's and don'ts around what you need to know if you're ready to look for funding and what are the key legal documents needed for an investment.

Together they will advise on what to consider when setting up a company and the role of service providers to support an early stage business.  They will also share some of the common mistakes, and top tips on what successful entrepreneurs get right.

There will be the opportunity to ask questions and we will end with an open discussion to explore these topics further, followed by networking and refreshments.

We'll also have a representation from Growth Works where you can find out about their programmes, investment opportunities and events all aimed at supporting growth in the local business community.

We're happy to be returning to the West Hub for this event. So come along for some inspirational, informative and educational speakers, a networking opportunity... and for the beer and pizza!
