Maxwell Centre Annual Showcase 2022

The Maxwell Centre programme acts as a centrepiece for industry engagement across Physical Sciences and Technology at the University of Cambridge. We invite you to attend the Annual Research Showcase 2022 event to celebrate the breadth and quality of Cambridge research in the context of external partnerships, opportunities and collaborations.

The Maxwell Centre building, University of Cambridge

The event will be of relevance to a mixed audience from academia, start-ups, industry, funders and policy makers.

Registration opens at 9:00am at the Maxwell Centre.

Morning session - academic perspective (10:00-12:00): 

This session will include:

  • an address by the Maxwell Centre Director
  • a keynote talk Dr Su Varma (Academic Director of R&D Incubator, NSG Pilkington)
  • a series of 2-minutes' talks by researchers from across the Physical Science, Technology and beyond – showcasing a broad range of collaborative, multidisciplinary, cutting-edge research and industrial partnerships.
Networking lunch with poster session and stands to visit at the Maxwell Centre.
Afternoon session - Joining the dots (13:00 - 15:00)

This session will explore:

  • grasping collaboration opportunities- how to hit the ground running with support from Maxwell community (including Maxwell Programme, Cambridge Zero, Energy IRC, Royce Institute, Decarbonisation Network and Cambridge Enterprise)
  • a keynote talk Emily Farnworth (Director, Hughes Hall Centre for Climate Change Engagement)
  • examples of successful partnerships
  • discussion panel - achieving a Zero Carbon Future together

Attendance of this event is free of charge, but booking is essential, to avoid catering waste.
