Academic Centre Administrator - Full Time and Part Time

Are you an exceptional organiser with a talent for supporting senior leaders in a dynamic environment? We wish to appoint:

  • 1 full time, permanent and;
  • 1 part time (0.5FTE), fixed term for 12 Months

Academic Centre Administrators to work within Institute of Continuing Education (ICE) International Summer Programmes and Weekend Courses team, supporting the Heads of Academic Centre Administration, Academic Centre Coordinators, Academic Directors, Panel Tutors, students and applicants. The Academic Centre Administrator provides effective administration of the course portfolio.

The Role

As Academic Centre Administrator, you'll provide essential support to team members. Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for enquiries for the International Summer Programme and Weekend Courses team.
  • Provide course administration including sending correspondence to students and academics, preparing course materials, assisting with bookings.
  • Supporting and contributing to cross-team projects.

Your Skills and Experience

We're looking for someone who:

  • Is highly skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Has excellent organisational, time management, and communication skills, has the ability to learn new software systems.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, attention to detail, and adaptability.
  • Can handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion.
  • Thrives in a collaborative environment and can manage multiple priorities.
  • Has the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Some flexibility will be required during peak times which may include evenings and some weekends (eg International Summer Programme delivery dates, Weekend Courses, peak recruitment periods, open days and for key meetings).
  • Knowledge of university systems or similar organisational structures would be advantageous but is not essential.

The roles are office-based for a minimum of 40% of contracted hours, but 100% office based prior to and during the International Summer Programme (mid June to early August approximately). These arrangements are subject to change and will not form part of the contractual terms.
