Job Overview
Are you an experienced leader ready to make a difference in water metering operations? As the IMA Senior Operations Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role within the IMA Alliance, managing Front-Line Managers and supporting operational teams to deliver exceptional metering services across the region. In this senior position, you’ll drive operational best practices, ensure top-quality service delivery, and play a key part in advancing health and safety, customer service, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and oversee comprehensive health and safety plans for all field operations, maintaining a zero AFR and zero utility strike target.
Lead monthly health and safety reviews and support behavioural safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with POSWSH and Water Regulations.
Foster a culture of health, safety, and well-being across operational teams, including the implementation of the LIFE engagement programme.
Champion a customer-centric approach, aiming for 100% customer satisfaction by ensuring timely, considerate communication during all operations.
Work to minimize community disruption during activities and keep customers informed throughout all phases of work.
Establish strong communication channels with frontline teams, promoting consistent practices across health and safety, water quality, and commercial efficiency.
Lead resource planning to ensure the right teams are in the right place at the right time, reducing absences and ensuring up-to-date training and competency checks.
Drive performance by meeting contract KPIs and implementing Performance Improvement Plans where necessary.
Oversee weekly/monthly cost reviews and develop action plans to achieve operational savings and align productivity-based bonuses with team targets.
Support recruitment, training, and development of new operational staff, ensuring balanced training rotations.
Collaborate with project teams on initiatives like the Reinstatement, Stores Management, and Depot Strategies, ensuring smooth transitions and timely delivery.
What We’re Looking For:
Proven experience in managing large-scale operational teams and delivering on KPIs within utilities, construction, or a similar industry.
Strong background in health and safety planning, ideally with experience leading safety initiatives.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and inspire teams.
Demonstrated ability in performance and cost management, with a focus on operational efficiencies.
A proactive, customer-focused approach to service delivery.
