The UK’s National Foundation for Educational Research (NFER) predicts that over one million UK jobs could be lost to technological advancements and automation in the next decade. In response, the UK is adjusting its skills training policies and reforming the apprenticeship levy to increase job success rates.

In China, while specific figures are unavailable, learning from the UK’s experience can help address employment challenges brought by technological change. Against this backdrop, the Shanghai Pudong New Area Xingzhi Education Development Centre and Excellence First Enterprise Consulting Ltd (EFEC) have renewed their partnership after the disruption of the pandemic.

Deepening Educational Services and Building Bridges

Established in 2016, Xingzhi Education is a private non-enterprise unit registered with the Shanghai Pudong New Area Civil Affairs Bureau, rated as a “4A Social Organisation.” It offers educational support, project management, research, and professional development services. EFEC, founded in 2006, specializes in Sino-British cooperation, focusing on life sciences and clean technology, fostering deep connections between China and the UK in education, business innovation, and cultural exchange.

Responding to the Call for Openness and Enhancing Educational Standards

From 2016 to 2021, Xingzhi Education and EFEC collaborated to introduce high-quality educational resources and cultivate technical talents. Their projects included international teacher training, student study tours, and the introduction of international courses, enhancing educational quality and broadening students’ international perspectives.

Exploring Development Paths and Innovating Together

On October 25, 2024, Mr. Chen Yangxing, Founder of Xingzhi Education, warmly received Mrs. Lily Lin, CEO of EFEC. They discussed potential development opportunities for cultural, educational, and healthcare cooperation platforms. They plan to build a broad network of relationships, seek like-minded partners, and explore “enterprise-school” collaborative education. This aims to enhance students’ practical skills and innovative thinking, integrate the latest industry trends into the curriculum, and ensure high-quality technical and skilled talents thrive in global innovation projects.

The renewed partnership marks the beginning of a new journey, injecting new vitality into promoting the internationalisation of education and deep cultural integration. Both parties look forward to contributing to the development of Sino-British cross-cultural projects, writing a new chapter of collaboration.
