About the role:

 

The University Library, sitting within the Student and Library Services Directorate, is committed to delivering and excellent, innovative and responsive library and information service, fully integrated within the life of our university community.

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen to provide leadership to the site based Academic Services Team based at Writtle and Chelmsford sites, made up of Study Coaches delivering study skills support services to student groups and individuals and Subject Librarians delivering academic library services to our University’s teaching, learning and research community.

 

Working in close collaboration with the Academic Services Manager leading the Academic Services Team based at Cambridge and Peterborough, you’ll apply your leadership skills to ensure high standards of academic library services and study skills support to students and staff within faculties. You will also ensure the effective delivery and promotion of high quality study skills resources, information resources and support to faculties, closely integrated with the curriculum.

 

With a degree or higher degree, plus demonstrable professional experience for the role, or relevant professional degree level qualification appropriate to the role,  you will be working closely with the Customer Services Managers, the Research Services Manager, the Head of Content Delivery and Discovery and academic colleagues to ensure that library services and study skills support provision at all sites meet the needs of Faculty students and staff.

 

The Student and Library Services Directorate operates an agile working policy of a minimum of 40% of weekly working hours worked on campus and a maximum of 60% worked from home.
