An opportunity has arisen to join the busy Finance team within University Biomedical Services, this is a key position reporting directly to the Cost and Finance Manager.

The ideal candidate will have practical experience with supervision of staff and working to tight deadlines. You will need to be flexible and have the ability to prioritise work, maintain accuracy as well as excellent organisation skills and attention to detail. You will have relevant computing skills including competence in IT packages such as Word, Excel and Outlook.

You will be expected to:

• Plan and prioritise the Finance Office workload, in collaboration with the Cost and Finance Manager. • Support the training of new members of the team on University finance systems and in all Accounts processes. • Work with the Finance Team to ensure that monthly Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities are processed within a timely fashion on a monthly basis. • Manage the Finance e-mail box, ensuring timely and accurate response to queries. • Carry out Accounts Payable duties such as approval of supplier invoices as well as processing where necessary. • Carry out Accounts Receivable duties including BACS receipts, investigating and resolving queries as well as raising credit notes where necessary. • Develop processes to ensure best practice is maintained and records are kept in accordance with the financial regulations. • Undertake and plan month end and year end procedures in collaboration with the Cost and Finance Manager. •Prepare monthly billing, ensuring accurate processing of Accounts Receivable invoices.

In addition to the base salary stated above, the successful candidate for this post will receive an additional 2.5% supplement to their pay.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment and a security check.
