About the role:

This is an exciting time to join our team with a new £30 million University for Peterborough that opened only in 2022. This included a brand new café – Wirrina Café. We have just seen another phase complete giving catering a small hospitality hub in the new University building. 

 

Your can-do attitude will enable you to assist the Assistant Catering Manager with the provision of food, beverage and hospitality services. You will provide catering for meetings and events, preparing simple food items, delivering food and beverages to meeting rooms, setting up for events, and keeping a clean hospitality preparation area. You’ll take pride in providing a high-quality hospitality service. You will also work in our café, serving customers, operating tills. You will take pride in maintaining a clean and attractive environment for customers.

 

Although a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, basic food preparation and till experience are desirable, a willingness to learn is more important. We’re happy to offer full training, as well as opportunities for further development, including qualifications. Good communication skills and a strong customer focus are essential.

 

The vacancy available is to work 20 hours per week across 5 days (4 hours a day) term time only (38 week contract). We’re open to discussion on your working hours. The café is open 8:30-4:00pm Monday-Friday. In addition, occasional evening and weekend working may be required, for which advance notice will be given.
