Finance Manager

Reporting to the CFO, the successful candidate in this role will be running the day to day financial and other non-operational activities of the business including:

  • Month End reviews of group accounts
  •  Monthly consolidation and reporting
  •  Maintaining and enhancing the monthly reporting pack
  •  Transfer pricing and tax planning
  • Cashflow forecasting
  • Annual budget and business modelling
  • Insurance renewals
  • Annual accounts, tax and R&D tax credit management

You most likely have had some experience in small, growing entities and are hands on, and perhaps looking for the next level where you can use your skills whilst getting exposure to some more senior activity and responsibility. You will be professionally dedicated, technically confident and competent and be disciplined in your work. The role will be based out of our offices in Cambridge.

Key tasks: 

Consolidating management accounts and year end accounts. Process optimisation and making the use of software automation to bring efficiency and provide insight.

With external investors and a broad ownership of the numbers within the management team, reporting is an essential part of this role – both internal and external. The role will require close working with the CFO and CEO on business modelling, budgeting and forecasts and monthly reporting both internally and to Board.

Education/experience must haves: 

  • An accounting qualification e.g. (ACCA/ICAEW)
  •  Experience of overseas entities, transfer pricing & consolidation
  • Minimum 5 years-experience in finance

Nice to haves: 

  • Experience within an accountancy firm

Essential skills: 

  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel
  • Good working knowledge of other Microsoft Apps e.g. Word, PPT, Teams
  • Good accounting fundamentals knowledge
  • Self-starter – able to work with minimal guidance

Nice to haves: 

  • Knowledge of Xero and other accounting software / ERP systems
  • Good communication skills – written and spoken
  • Understanding of VAT, PAYE/NIC, transfer pricing, import/export, etc
  • Line management experience
  • Activities/interest in business outside of pure finance e.g. legal, banking, cost control, ESG
