ARU’s research institutes and four faculties bridge scientific, technical and creative fields. We deliver impactful research which tackles pressing issues and makes a real difference to our communities. Our academic excellence has been recognised by the UK’s Higher Education funding bodies, with 16 of our research areas assessed as world leading. We are the largest provider of Nursing, Midwifery, Health and Social Care students in the East of England, and we are also among the UK’s leading universities for degree apprenticeship provision, working with hundreds of employers across the UK.
About the Role:
The AHP workforce research partnership is funded by the NIHR and has been designed to enable engagement and knowledge mobilisation to accelerate the learning related to sustained AHP staffing across England, with the specific aim of engaging ‘grass roots’ managers and staff and influencing policy related to sustainable workforce planning and implementation in the NHS. All partners in the workforce research will be involved in developing knowledge and leadership capability, based on evidence and on evaluation of existing and new best practice in sustainable workforce.
Working flexibly with the research team, your focus will be on the engagement and delivery of the Community, Involvement and Engagement with AHP Workforce Research stakeholders, identifying and recruiting key professional staff and undertaking participatory and realist research. The CIE group chaired jointly by the NHS England Representative and ARU Professor is the national steering group for the NIHR funded research project and you will line manage the research administrator to ensure the effective delivery of this forum
You will have a PhD or equivalent and be able to demonstrate some interest in workforce research across the health and social care sector. Ideally you will be interested in developing applied research and implementation research. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate interest in public engagement, professional curiosity and an understanding of AHP staffing and management challenges in rural, coastal and deprived communities
