£36,650 - £39,032 the band minimum is the normal starting pay for those new to a role.   In exceptional circumstances, when relevant skills and experience can be identified, a higher starting salary may be considered.

We will give full consideration to requests for flexible and part time working, such as reduced hours, compressed hours or job sharing. British Antarctic Survey (BAS) is looking for an exceptional Transformation Co-ordinator to join our Research Development and Support (ReDS) team.  BAS delivers and enables world-leading interdisciplinary research in the Polar Regions. We employ experts from many different professions to carry out our Science as well as keep the lights on, feed the research and support teams and keep everyone safe!

You’ll be joining our Research Development and Support (ReDS) team but with a close working relationship other transformation specialists within the BAS Transformation Programme

In this role, you’ll be instrumental in reshaping how BAS manages research data, driving real-world improvements in our systems and processes

Within the role, there will be an opportunity to develop skills in process analysis and optimization, system implementation, policy development, and stakeholder collaboration, as well as developing knowledge of grant regulations and research administration.

Current projects the team are working on include scoping and implementing changes to time recording and resource management processes, and improving reporting of research-related data.

Some of your main responsibilities will include:

  • Document and review existing research management systems and processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement. This will include (but is not limited to) processes associated with research grant data capture, analysis and reporting, and other project-management related processes such as time recording etc.
  • Build familiarity /stay abreast of changes in grant regulations and funding agency requirements in so much as these impact proposed changes/implementation of grant management systems to ensure compliance with internal and external policies and regulations
  • Co-ordinate and support ReDS Transformation Programme working groups, in close collaboration with the Head of ReDS and Transformation Team.
