About the role:

In this role, you will focus on developing and enhancing the provision of recreational societies and activities on our Cambridge campus, working within the wider Student Opportunities team.

 

What you will be doing

  • Developing and enhancing the provision of interest based societies and recreational sport.
  • Gathering feedback on the experience and engagement of societies
  • Coordinating, delivering and promoting relevant activities and events to increase society and student engagement
  • Actively contributing to the organisation of large scale Union events aiming to increase society and student participation
  • Being the first point of contact for the Cambridge society queries and ensuring all interactions provide the highest levels of customer service possible.

 

What we’re looking for

  • Experience of working with diverse groups of people
  • Experience and understanding of customer service
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to develop professional relationships for the benefit of students and the Union

 

Skills that will help you

  • Ability to present in front of large groups
  • Ability to conduct research and analyse data
  • Ability to coordinate events

This role will be based at the Cambridge Campus.

ARU Students’ Union represents students at ARU across campuses in Cambridge, Chelmsford, Peterborough, Writtle and London. In addition, we provide a range of services; academic and welfare advice, support to students running societies and volunteering opportunities in and around the campuses. Whilst we play an important student representative role that sometimes sees us challenge the University, we work closely with them and support areas of delivery within their strategy.
