Technician Commitment Coordinator

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, pro-active and efficient Coordinator to join our growing team, to coordinate, develop and oversee administrative operations in support of the work of the Technician Team. This varied and busy position is new and will play a key role in supporting this growing team in the successful delivery of the University's Technician Commitment Action Plan, a sector wide initiative.

Learning and Development (L&D) supports excellence in learning, teaching and research at the University of Cambridge by providing professional, vocational and leadership development for 13,000+ university staff, in line with the University's wider mission and strategy.

The Role:

As Coordinator you will provide excellent administration and support to ensure a high level of service delivery. As part of this, you will work with colleagues to review and apply continuous improvement principles to ensure administration procedures are as effective and efficient as possible.

You will be responsible for coordinating and organising Technician Commitment Action Plan (TCAP) activity and administration and act as a first point of contact for enquiries.

You will assist with production of reports by gathering and analysis of data and carry out some financial administration.

You will work closely with the other members of the team to organise events and produce promotional materials. This includes maintaining and updating the Technician website.

As the ideal candidate for this role, you will join us with:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills;
  • Experience of using standard Microsoft Office software to an intermediate or advanced level e.g. Word, Excel, SharePoint, Outlook and MS Teams;
  • Good problem-solving skills;
  • A willingness to work flexibly and co-operatively with colleagues;
  • Experience of designing and improving administrative processes and procedures would be an advantage;
  • Experience of project coordination would be an advantage.
