Workday Systems Specialist- Alliances

Contract: 12 month fixed term Contract 

Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 or dependent on experience and skills

What will you be doing as a People Systems Specialist? 

We are seeking a skilled and experienced People Systems Specialist to join our Workday People Systems team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, configuring, and enhancing our Workday HCM system, managing security assignments, and producing and analysing people reports. You will act as the subject matter expert and provide technical and analytical support to our people systems team, enabling the wider team and business leaders across Anglian Water and our alliances to make informed decisions.  

Your role will also involve supporting the Workday release cycles, ensuring all updates are tested and implemented effectively. Beyond your technical responsibilities, you will mentor and upskill other team members, ensuring knowledge sharing and adherence to best practices, while also ensuring compliance with data protection and security standards. 

What attributes are required? 

  • Workday expertise: Good technical knowledge of Workday, including configuration, report building, and troubleshooting. 

  • Problem-solving skills: Ability to resolve system issues quickly and efficiently, with attention to detail. 

  • Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills for working with both internal stakeholders and external partners. 

  • Security awareness: Understanding of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR), and ensuring compliance in managing sensitive data. 

  • Continuous improvement mindset: Always looking for ways to improve systems and processes, enhancing efficiency and user experience. 

  • Leadership skills: Ability to mentor junior team members and manage projects, while fostering a positive and productive work environment.

  • Workday expertise: Experience configuring Workday , developing reports, and handling integrations 

  • Analytical and technical skills: Strong background in analysing system performance, identifying issues, and implementing solutions. 

  • Project management: Proven experience in supporting Workday release cycles and working on continuous improvement initiatives. 

  • Data protection knowledge: Familiarity with data protection regulations, including GDPR, and experience ensuring compliance in people systems. 

  • Collaboration and communication: Excellent communication skills for working with HR teams, IT partners, and external vendors to resolve issues and optimise processes. 

  • Mentorship: Experience mentoring and developing team members, providing guidance, training, and knowledge sharing. 

  • Leadership and people management: Effective team leadership, with experience managing performance, setting clear objectives, and driving accountability.
