It was a busy day, but it flew by - most people were surprised when each hourly break came around.
Everyone delivered 2 x two-minute presentations (on any topic they liked); one in the morning and one in the afternoon. After each short talk, they received feedback from me and the rest of the group.
Some of the things learnt:
- Slow down. Many speakers simply go too fast, which affects the clarity and can make you appear nervous.
- Tell a story. It's much more engaging and always easier to deliver. Stories do a lot of the heavy lifting for you.
- Go with the flow. When something goes wrong, smiling, accepting the problem and describing it can actually be funny and relatable.
