ACT thanks supporters with summer celebration

ACT's second annual summer celebration event to thank supporters raises £12,000.

Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (ACT), the dedicated charity for Addenbrooke’s and the Rosie hospitals, had fun in the sun as it thanked its supporters from the past year at a summer celebration event on Sunday 21 June in Trumpington.

The second annual summer celebration, held in ACT’s 10th anniversary year, took place on Father’s Day in the beautiful grounds of Trumpington Hall with the kind generosity of Antony and Victoria Pemberton.

The fun, family-friendly event, which was attended by over 450 ACT supporters from across the region including Sir Michael Marshall and Dame Mary Archer, showcased local traders, entertainers and musicians.

An impressive £12,000 was raised through the event, which will be used where the patient needs are greatest across Addenbrooke’s and the Rosie hospitals.

The summer celebration was kindly sponsored by national developer, Countryside.  Countryside, whose sites include AURA, ABODE and NOVO, are developing neighbourhoods on the edge of Addenbrooke’s site and have recently chosen to work with ACT to support the community they are working in.

Amy Baines, Associate Marketing Director at Countryside, said: “We’re so pleased that we were able to help support the summer celebration, which proved to be a really fun and successful day. This partnership activity is a vital part of Countryside’s work within the Cambridge community and we hope to offer more support for ACT and its special events in the future.”

Carla Brown, Corporate Fundraising Manager at ACT said: “We are very grateful to Countryside for their support and the vital role they have played by contributing to one of ACT’s flagship supporter recognition events.”

Countryside join a number of businesses who are showing their commitment to ACT including Cambridge Building Society, Enterprise Rent-A-Car and Dante Risk Management who also contributed to the event.
