Recently launched in Europe – and already gaining market traction - Amino’s A150 set-top box offers a range of performance, content and user experience enhancements. Following extensive lab testing, the new platform will now support the Nordija fokusOn HTML5 and Widget enabled user experience – and is available commercially from this month.
Based on a standard scalable Internet architecture, fokusOn relies on proven, robust technologies as used on major websites attracting millions of hits per hour. The open eco-system also eliminates vendor lock-in with flexible web architecture with Javascript widgets, HTML5 and CSS3 enabling complete freedom to design accessible user experiences for any platform. Nordija technology also allows users to enjoy personalised television and on-demand content on any device, anytime anywhere.
Amino CEO Donald McGarva said: “Our customers are demanding more flexibility and performance from all parts of the value chain – yet still require the security which comes from selecting partners who can deliver quality proven solutions that deliver great entertainment experiences. Nordija and ourselves are very closely aligned in our thinking on the future direction of home entertainment and look forward to working together on delivering innovative new personalised multiscreen propositions to the market.”
Nordija CEO, Thomas Christensen said: “We are delighted to work with our partner Amino on this latest integration. The A150 has proved a highly impressive performer in our testing – helping deliver very high quality, fast rendering and excellent reliability.”
The A150/550 set-top box combines Amino’s reputation for quality with improved performance and enhanced user experience to enable the latest added value OTT /HTML5 features.
