Anglia Ruskin meets the Gold standard

The RoSPA Gold award will be presented to Anglia Ruskin at a ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel on Thursday, May 17.

Dating back to 1956, the RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards scheme is the largest and longest-running programme of its kind in the UK.  It recognises commitment to accident and ill health prevention and is open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas.

The scheme does not just look at accident records, but also entrants’ overarching health and safety management systems, including important practices such as strong leadership and workforce involvement.

Head of Risk Management at Anglia Ruskin, Paul Varley, said: “This award, alongside our RoSPA level 5 Diamond audit award, is a remarkable achievement for everyone at Anglia Ruskin.”

Anglia Ruskin’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Michael Thorne, said: “We pride ourselves on championing the importance of taking a sensible pragmatic approach to health and safety, which allows us to provide a safe environment to all our students and staff without inhibiting our teaching and research work.”
