Applicants to sample university life

Anglia Ruskin University expects a bumper turnout for its undergraduate Open Day on Saturday, 11 February after receiving a record number of full-time undergraduate applications through UCAS this year (an increase of 11.3%).

The Open Day on the Cambridge campus on 11 February (10am-3pm) will give applicants the opportunity to discover what it is like to study at Anglia Ruskin, explore the campus, and learn more about the support available to students.  There will also be experts on hand to answer questions about the new student finance system.

The Open Day will feature a range of activities and discussions, with the faculties of Arts, Law & Social Sciences; Science & Technology; Health, Social Care & Education and Lord Ashcroft International Business School all providing information about their courses.

Pat Watson, Head of UK/EU Admissions, said: “The increase in tuition fees means that it’s even more important that students choose the right university for them and, thanks to the combination of our attractive portfolio of courses and new facilities, more people than ever have applied to study at Anglia Ruskin.”

In the past five years Anglia Ruskin has invested over £81 million in campus developments.  The Cambridge campus has recently undergone a major redevelopment and now boasts a brand new business school, improved library services, lecture theatres and rehearsal spaces.

Anglia Ruskin’s undergraduate Open Days usually attract between 800-1,000 prospective students to the campus, plus members of their family and friends, and there are five held throughout the year.

Anyone interested in attending the 11 February Open Day can book a place online at www.anglia.ac.uk/openday or simply turn up on the day.
