Come along to The Hauser Forum to find out more and explore the way our attitudes affect how we see the workplace, our engagement with employers, and our careers.
The Guardian last week referenced new research that shows Millennials (Generation Y) are less interested in financial security and more concerned with job fulfilment. It said that while older generations have gained greatly from the pursuit of wealth, young people are wondering if there is more to life than getting rich quick. Those having grown up with the internet have a better insight into society’s core problems.
At the breakfast session (8am - 10am), Cambridge-based HR consultant Kelly Drewery will share her own ground-breaking research into generational differences in the business environment. Her research pinpoints the attitudes and assumptions that make each generation unique, understanding the factors that shape our lifelong attitudes to career, employment and engagement– from what we are willing to offer our employer to the deal we expect in return.
Kelly will look behind the current headlines on intergenerational conflict, with insights into what motivates the never had it so good Baby Boomer cohort heading towards the end of their careers, through to the expectations of never had it at all Gen Z youngsters, now at the start of their working lives.
The session is aimed at HR and internal communications professionals, managers of multi-generational teams and senior managers keen to create the work and reward packages that will encourage the next generation of Cambridge innovators.
