Argon Design takes UK electronic systems industry by storm

Argon Design wins the prestigious NMI Innovation of the Year Award.

Following their success in the recent BEEA awards, Argon Design, a Cambridge based technology and product development partner for Fortune 500, FTSE100 brands and SMEs, scooped the prestigious Innovation of the Year Award at the NMI Gala Dinner in London last week. Impressed by Argon’s latest product, Argon Streams, the Judges of this year’s NMI Innovation Award recognised it as the “clear winner”, emphasising its significance and innovative impact on video decoding technologies, driven by the huge increase of internet video traffic.

“It was a fantastic night and great honour to be among such strong contenders from across the electronic systems and design communities,” commented Clifford Dive, VP Business Development at Argon. “We are absolutely delighted to be acknowledged as the company that can demonstrate a significant business impact through innovation.”

“Awards such as BEEA and NMI celebrate individual company achievements and also bring worldwide attention to the UK electronic systems, micro-electronics and semiconductor industry,” said David Gill, Managing Director of St John’s Innovation Centre. “I would like to congratulate the whole Argon team on yet another remarkable accomplishment. It’s great to see SJIC tenants growing from strength to strength in the global tech league.”

Argon Streams, with variants currently available for VP9 and HEVC, is a comprehensive set of test bit-streams and associated tools, based on formal verification techniques. These test bit-streams enable you to be confident that your decoder design is fully compatible with the appropriate standard.
