John Hicks has spent almost 25 years working within technology businesses, focused mostly on bioscience technology and more recently assistive technology for the disabled in support, sales and marketing.
In early 2012, John left a highly paid directorship to pursue the establishment of Spectacles Training & Coaching Ltd.
Over the years, John observed how people related to each other and reacted under pressure and how in many cases their creativity became stifled when the effects of a poor economic climate started to bite in 2008.
John states: 'The pharmaceutical and bioscience industries in the western world have been hit hard financially, particularly with the search of the blockbuster drug seemingly becoming more expensive and less successful. This has led to reduced financial resources in finding those essential business building drugs. It is crucial that with fewer resources people can find a way to make a positive shift in their creativity so that they can meet those perceived unachievable objectives that are often imposed in reaction to corporate financial performance'.
Spectacles Training & Coaching Ltd is developing bespoke management programmes for individuals and teams within this industry that seek to empower managers to deliver 'more from less' simply through engaging more authentically with their staff and peers.
'If we are more authentic with each other, we are more transparent, people will start to see what else we have to offer in the journey of being more successful and engage us at a level that will be so much more fulfilling, exciting and meaningful to ourselves. Higher levels of job satisfaction will be observed, stress levels will be lowered and further success will follow'.
To date, Spectacles Training & Coaching Ltd has worked with business owners, CEOs, scientists and professional sales people to sharpen their creativity, think differently and deliver more. As part of the company's corporate social responsibility, Spectacles also develop coaching programs for young people with behavioral difficulties ultimately seeking to empower them to take every opportunity to develop a successful future.
