Mike originally joined Bidwells as an Equity Partner, after moving from Savills in London.
He is based in the Firm's Cambridge and London offices and currently heads up a team of 48. His move to the Main Board is in recognition of his vital role within the Firm, as it continues to strengthen and expand.
Since he joined, he has been involved in a number of high-profile planning projects, among the most notable, securing planning permission in October last year for a new flagship restaurant for Caprice Holdings Group in Berkeley Square.
He is also involved with the delivery of the Lord Rogers master-plan for the Brookgate CB1 Cambridge mixed-use development project, which includes a revamped station, public square and new residential and student accommodation on a 10ha site, in addition to the new Brookgate project (Chesterton Park CB4) on the fringe of the city which involves the redevelopment of a 32-acre brownfield site centred around a new train station.
Patrick McMahon, Senior Partner at Bidwells said: "In the short time Mike has been with us he has played a pivotal role in helping Bidwells to grow its profile and cementing our place in new sectors.
"It is a very exciting time at Bidwells as we continue to invest heavily in new talent and new offices, including London, where we have trebled our staff numbers in the last 12 months.
"I am delighted that by joining our Main Board, Mike will continue to be a key player in enhancing its work further and building on its continued success."
Mike added: "I am delighted and privileged to be asked to sit on the Main Board of Bidwells and at such an exciting time.
"Since my arrival, I now fully appreciate the wonderful legacy the business has and the depth of talent spread across the different disciplines.
"The challenge is to take this successful business forward into profitable new sectors and services without losing its key strengths and identity."
Mike has more than 25-years' experience, in both the public and private sectors. Prior to moving to the private sector he was a chief planning officer in Local Government.
Through his work with Caprice Holdings and the Birley Group he is now an acknowledged leader in high-end restaurants and hotels. His practice is varied, including many London clients as well as the leading developers in the Eastern region.
