EACH offers care and support to hundreds of children and young people with life-threatening conditions in East Anglia, as well as their families. Its service includes, wellbeing activities, therapies, counselling, symptom management nursing and short breaks for families who provide round-the-clock care.
Birketts is committed to raising the £35,100 annual salary of a Clinical Nurse Specialist through its fundraising efforts in 2021. EACH currently has 11 of these vital nurses working across the region, working closely with families to provide support for their children and to develop individual symptom management plans. However, as demand for their services increases, the need for support from corporate partners and individual donations grows.
Beyond fundraising, Birketts’ colleagues will also have regular opportunities to volunteer for EACH, whether at one of their charity shops or by maintaining the gardens at one of their three hospices. Every member of staff at Birketts can take a day’s paid leave to volunteer or attend a charity event as part of the firm’s Collective Social Responsibility (CSR).
Grace Kerr, Partner and CSR Chair at Birketts, said: “We are delighted to announce this fundraising partnership with EACH.
After a year dominated by the COVID-19 pandemic, EACH needs more support than ever before. As a firm we recognise the importance of the community we work in, so as well as Birketts’ regular calendar of charity events, all our colleagues will be encouraged to consider raising funds for EACH in their own fundraising endeavours. The work carried out every day by the professional and compassionate team at EACH is truly extraordinary and it is a privilege to be able to support it so fully in 2021.”
EACH Chief Executive Phil Gormley said: “Birketts is a superb corporate partner for 2021 and this is an invaluable commitment to help support so many life-threatened children, young people and their families across East Anglia. The enthusiasm shown by Grace and her CSR Team has been magnificent and we’re excited to see a year’s fundraising take shape.
EACH’s mission to improve the quality of life and wellbeing of every child and family under our care is only possible thanks to the charitable work of organisations like Birketts. To raise the funds for the salary of a Clinical Nurse Specialist will make a big difference to our charity, but the difference it will make to a family going through the toughest of times will be immeasurable.”
