“Building the Digital Bridge: Creating exciting new content and services for mobile devices – cross-fertilizing India-UK experiences” is a workshop organised by Creative Industries Knowledge Transfer Network (CIKTN) in partnership with the UK Science & Innovation Network (SIN) and AcceleratorIndia in Mumbai, India. The workshop, packaged as RiffStream#Mumbai, will be held on September 25th 2012 at Taj Lands End, Mumbai.
RiffStream#Mumbai will be curated by Dr Uday Phadke (Executive Chairman, AcceleratorIndia and CIKTN Investment Theme Champion) and will bring together digital media businesses operating across the film, advertising and content industries in the UK and India with emphasis on the creation, distribution and consumption of content and experience for mobile devices and the impact of digital technologies on established business models.
Building on previous successful events held by CIKTN and SIN in Berlin and Amsterdam, the Mumbai workshop will also address the shared strategic vision of both the UK and Indian Governments of creating connections between digital media businesses across the two countries and also link to UK policy initiatives.
The workshop will use RiffStream#, a methodology developed by Dr Phadke to maximise the value of the networking and accelerate new business creation. The methodology is based upon a musical metaphor, to provide an interactive environment where players from different disciplines can interact to synthesize and test new ideas and relationships with other participants.
Dr. Uday Phadke, Chairman of AcceleratorIndia, who is curating the Mumbai event said "This event is designed to enable in-depth interaction between UK and Indian Media and Telecommunications companies. I am confident that the discussions will lead to significant cross-border partnerships which create new content and services targeted at mobile devices".
The event agenda includes presentations by high profile UK and Indian digital entrepreneurs on market trends and insights into the UK and Indian marketplaces and panel discussions contrasting the experiences of digital players in them. Short break out sessions will be used to explore differences in the investment landscapes between the two countries and focus on networking with like-minded digital businesses to instigate commercial collaboration opportunities.
The workshop will also feature short sharp pitches from UK and Indian ventures that are aiming to raise investments or looking for partners and collaborators. Our overall aim for the workshop is to generate new collaborations and projects as the basis for delivering innovation between the UK and India and securing future funding.
