Business community gets behind Cambridge Awards Week

The calendar for Cambridge Awards Week (19 – 23 March) is fast filling up, with companies and organisations running events to promote Cambridge business during the week in which the major business awards are being held.

Networking group One Nucleus is offering companies the chance to network and hear more about Nuesentis, Pfizer’s new research unit, at an event at Granta Park during Cambridge Awards Week.

Called ‘Partnering with Neusentis, an entrepreneurial Pfizer research unit at the forefront of the new pharma R&D model’, the event takes place on the last day of Cambridge awards Week, Friday 23 March. The meeting will begin with registration and coffee at 09:30 with a series of presentations beginning at 10:00. Improving the User Experience in the next decade will be the theme of an event held by Cambridge Wireless and jointly sponsored by Philips Research and Granta Park during Cambridge Awards Week.

The event will take place at the Philips Research Laboratories at Cambridge Science Park on the afternoon of 22 March and will focus on emerging lifestyle scenarios and the methodologies by which new technologies can match their users' needs and expectations to provide an intuitive and satisfying user experience. Confirmed speakers include Jenny Tillotson, Senior Research Fellow, University of the Arts London and Rudy de Belgeonne, Principal UX Designer at Orange France Telecom. Cambridge Cleantech is running 'Trade Winds' on 19 March - a briefing on wind energy markets, giving an overview of the key markets, dynamics, players and opportunities available in the global wind market and how companies can get involved. Cambridge Awards Week, when the two major annual business awards evenings, the Cambridge News Business Excellence Awards and Business Weekly Business Awards take place, runs from 19 to 23 March, will launch with a breakfast event at Granta Park on 19 March. Local companies and organisations will also have the opportunity to create their own events and initiatives, all with the aim of raising awareness of the dynamic Cambridgeshire business community.
