Cambridge arts organisations ready to Evolve with Catalyst funding from Arts Council England

Cambridge Junction and Wysing Arts Centre are among 140 organisations across England to receive funding to support more successful and sustainable fundraising activities.

The news comes as the Arts Council today announces the successful applicants to the Catalyst: Evolve programme. Catalyst Evolve is a new initiative that aims to support organisations with a limited track record in fundraising to attract more private giving.

Successful organisations

Wysing Arts Centre, £150,000
Junction CDC Limited, £150,000

John Orna-Ornstein, Director, South East, Arts Council England, said: “We’re really pleased to be able to support so many organisations across the East of England as they develop their fundraising capacity. I look forward to seeing each of them realise their plans over the next three years, creating more diverse income streams and developing a stronger, more sustainable platform from which they can pursue their creative ambitions.”

Evolve
The Evolve fund will help organisations develop successful and sustainable fundraising models by investing in their capacity.  Money raised will be matched by the fund over a period of three years.  It is expected that organisations will continue to generate new money for the sector beyond the end of the grant programme.

Arts Council England champions, develops and invests in artistic and cultural experiences that enrich people’s lives. We support a range of activities across the arts, museums and libraries – from theatre to digital art, reading to dance, music to literature, and crafts to collections. Great art and culture inspires us, brings us together and teaches us about ourselves and the world around us. In short, it makes life better. Between 2015 and 2018, we plan to invest £1.1 billion of public money from government and an estimated £700 million from the National Lottery to help create these experiences for as many people as possible across the country. www.artscouncil.org.uk
