The two-day event offers up to 10 delegates an individually-crafted programme of one-to-one meetings with leading university researchers and technology companies, to the benefit of both.
Corporate Gateway has been running for more than a decade and in that time has attracted more than 50 different global companies seeking innovation and competitive advantage. Cambridge Network has introduced many household names to local companies and to the university, including Boots Centre for Innovation, Shell, SABIC, Pepsico, ELK Corporation, Rusnano, Finmeccanica, Reckitt Benckiser, Samsung and World Energy.
Many companies attend more than once. One delegate commented: “I always enjoy meeting 'your' extremely smart, creative and entrepreneurial people and this visit was no exception; again; thank you.”
Some delegates also choose to become corporate members of Cambridge Network as a result. Both Unilever and Procter & Gamble signed up through this route to keep in touch with Cambridge.
But what’s in it for Cambridge companies and university departments? It's your opportunity to shine! Since 2007 Cambridge Network has arranged one-to-one meetings with over 200 different East of England companies. Outcomes have varied and include successful licensing deals, entry into product ranges, funding being awarded and collaboration on FP7 projects.
A Cambridge Network member said: “The meeting you arranged with xxx has led to us selling an interesting job to them, which has a good chance of leading to a large and interesting longer term project”.
Cambridge Network’s directory is usually the first port of call for information about local organisations, so it’s worth keeping your company profile on the website up to date.
