For the third year, Cambridge Design Partnership is rising to the challenge of Movember, as staff grow moustaches in aid of the annual charity fundraiser. Aiming to beattheir total of £930 from last year, a team of 16 engineers from CDP are forgoing their razors for the month of November, to cultivate some decorative ‘mo’ delights but, most importantly, raise money for a good cause.
Movember’s campaign objective is to raise awareness of men’s health issues, specifically cancers affecting men. Most cancers are highly curable if caught in the early stages – including prostate and testicular cancer. Movember aims to increase early detection, diagnosis and effective treatment, as this will ultimately reduce the number of deaths from cancer.
And so, with Movember in full swing, and as the taches begin to take their fine shapes we pause for half-time photographs, and consider this year’s awards. So who will contest the ‘Ned Flanders award’ for tidiest tache or the ‘Roy Castle award’ for dedication? Can anyone trump the engineering masterpiece from last year of an 80cm long maze of tache (definitions of tache may have been abused) and take the ‘Brunel’ award?
What new and exciting categories will be invented? And how much longer can our clients or partners handle the dubious creations on show around the office?
All this and much more will be revealed on 30 November. Watch this space…
