The charity, which provides shelter, meaningful work opportunities, and support to people experiencing homelessness, was left reeling after a robbery that occurred on 1st September, resulting in the theft of tools and machinery from their vital workshop in Landbeach.
The workshop, which was targeted during the break-in, serves as a hub for essential maintenance work on the site and provides people with valuable skills in construction and property maintenance.
The incident, which was reported to Cambridgeshire Police, has not yet resulted in any arrests, and the items remain unrecovered.
In response to the challenging situation faced by Emmaus, The Cambridge has stepped in with its donation to assist in replacing the stolen equipment.
Carole Charter, Chief Commercial Officer at The Cambridge said: “We are shocked and saddened to learn of this appalling incident.”
“Giving back to our community is something that were strongly committed to, and we wanted to help Emmaus get back on their feet and get back to doing what they do best – supporting vulnerable people to achieve their potential.
“Our contribution is a reflection of the importance of community support in times of crisis like this.”
