The Foundation provides immediate assistance to families that have fled domestic abuse through its ‘Back to Life Support Project’ by sourcing items for their homes including white goods, flooring, and furniture to ensure they do not live in furniture poverty.
Caroline Deeprose, Co-Founder of The Foundation said: “Our walks are open to all women, not just those who have at some time or another experienced domestic abuse, and are a great way to raise awareness while lending a listening ear to women in need of a friendly and inclusive safe space.”
“We are grateful to Lucy and Carole for joining us on our most recent walk and it was great to see them engaging with the women we help.”
Earlier this year the charity received the full amount available from the Cambridge Building Society Community Fund grant application scheme, helping to facilitate its ambitious plans to help more people fleeing domestic abuse, and to successfully migrate from a Community Interest Company (CIC) to registered charity.
Carole Charter said: “It was a privilege to walk alongside these amazing women and to learn about their stories. When we launched the Community Fund under our Making The Difference banner, we did so with the intention of supporting charitable groups committed to helping vulnerable people with their housing needs, just like the Property Angels, and to see the impact on their lives is something we’re all very proud of.”
Lucy Crumplin said: “It was an honour to take part in this session and to stand next to so many inspiring women that have fled domestic abuse. The walk is a testament to their courage and their will to create a better life for themselves and their families.”
