Cambridge MP blasts Government over Brexit tourism no deal scenario

Speaking in the House of Commons this morning, Daniel Zeichner, MP for Cambridge, quizzed the Brexit Minister on the future of tourism and aviation should the Government walk away from the negotiating table as suggested by Theresa May.

Add This Share Buttons Referring to a Parliamentary briefing for Eastern Region MPs delivered by the Chief Executive of Stansted Airport, Mr Zeichner told the House that the prospect of no deal at the end of the negotiations could mean no flights to and from Europe. He later added: “Theresa May and the Conservatives keep telling us that ‘no deal is better than a bad deal’ but the warning from our airlines is clear - no deal would mean no flights.  “As today’s answer from the Minister has shown, the Government has either not made any assessment for a no deal scenario which would have a catastrophic impact or simply is too scared to say. “This is a reckless approach, not based on evidence, but on a wing and a prayer.” You can watch the full exchange here: https://goo.gl/tPbwLE
