The new store is part of an overall investment that combines digital and assisted-service technology with face to face expertise, following the successful relaunch of The Cambridge’s St Ives store in 2017.

Andy Jukes, Head of Direct Distribution and responsible for the branch and store network, said: “Our new central Cambridge store has a bright fresh look. It combines technology with expertise from our team members something we know is valued by customers. We’ve not only invested in the store, but our people too; by relocating and training current team members while the building work was underway to create a new central Cambridge team. This training will help them to serve customers visiting Cambridge and satisfy many more of their financial needs and questions.”
Customer Experience Manager Michael Stead, who headed up the launch of the new store, commented: “Since the new store opened its doors just over 2 weeks ago, the response from our customers has been fantastic. We’ve had very positive feedback from customers who find the open plan layout bright and welcoming, which together with the user-friendly assisted-service options and knowledgeable staff, all make it a destination they really want to visit.
“It’s given us the opportunity to think about our ideas and improvements for future investment. There’ll now be a period of review and evaluation before we decide where and when to apply elements of this new format to other branches. We’ll continue to use our refurbished St Ives and the central Cambridge stores as the place where our new ideas and services can be trialled before being rolled out across the business.”
