Cambridge Wireless is delighted to announce the appointment of three new Board Members:
- Paula Rogers-Brown – Head of Communities and Ecosystem Engagement at the University of Cambridge
- Dan Clarke – Head of Technology and Innovation at the Greater Cambridge Partnership
- Paul Crane – former CEO of Cambridge Wireless and telecoms technologist
Board members play a crucial role in overseeing the governance and strategic vision of Cambridge Wireless – a leading community of more than 1,000 technology companies involved in the research, development or application of wireless and mobile, internet, semiconductor and software technologies.
Paula Rogers-Brown is an accomplished business strategist with significant experience in developing innovative strategies and impactful technology-focused projects. Paula’s current role is focused on the development of a global interdisciplinary membership community of over 2000 professionals working at the interface between life science, medicine development and new, adaptive, technologies. Previously, Paula has led innovation ecosystem programmes for Innovate UK/KTN and was Head of Sector Engagement for Transport at the Institution of Engineering & Technology.
Dan Clarke is Head of Technology and Innovation for the Greater Cambridge Partnership. He works with new and emerging technologies to help Cambridge address significant challenges such as traffic flow, the public transport system and air quality. Dan works across local and central government, business and academia to ensure that Cambridge is using new technologies to support its ambitions. He is currently on the UKTIN Transport working group, on the advisory board for DaRe (a university-led project to support net zero transport) and is a Cambridge Wireless SIG champion for Smart and Intelligent Cities.
Former CEO of Cambridge Wireless, Paul Crane was Director of Network Research at BT, a member of the Telco Infra Project board and the Wireless Broadband Alliance board. His career includes work in Europe and the USA, building and launching telecommunication joint-ventures. Paul is a visiting professor at the University of Surrey, Institute for Communications Systems. He is passionate about the benefits of telecommunications, a common theme in his current work is to help drive telecommunications skills and capabilities in the UK.
Paula, Dan and Paul join the Cambridge Wireless Board during an exciting new period of change as the organisation welcomes new CEO, Michaela Eschbach. Michaela has an impressive track record as a Founder and Director, both in the not-for-profit and for-profit space. She was winner of the Cambridge News ‘Cambridge’s Most Influential Businesspeople Award’ in 2017 and was included in the EU-Startups’ Top 100: Europe’s Most Influential Women in the Startup and Venture Capital Space in 2023.
