CambridgeIP has granted SVC2 Start-up Weekend participants free API access to CambridgeIP's collections of over 100 million patents, science journal articles and clinical trial records.
"We expect that the SVC2 Start-up Weekend will see our data mashed up with valuable data from data.gov.uk and other data providers, something that has never been done before. It will be really exciting to see what the SVC2 Cambridge teams come up with," said CambridgeIP Chairman, Quentin Tannock.
"CambridgeIP's mission is to accelerate the development, deployment and dissemination of valuable technologies. We will be on hand to advise the SVC2C Startup Weekend teams and hope that our support will enable them to develop a range of winning products and services."
"It is great to see an innovative company like CambridgeIP stepping forward to support the creation of new business start-ups" said Hanadi Jabado, Director of Accelerate Cambridge who are organising the Startup Weekend Cambridge.
"Our mission is to help Cambridge based entrepreneurs succeed by providing support and advice during the earliest stages of venture formation. As part of Cambridge Judge Business School we are committed to working in partnership with leading companies for the benefit of the Cambridge economy".
To celebrate the launch of its Data Services division, making available its data and analysis from one of the world's largest collections of science literature, CambridgeIP is making its data collections freely available to participating student teams at the Silicon Valley Comes to Cambridge Startup Weekend. During the Startup Weekend student teams will use the CambridgeIP Data API to develop custom products and services.
