‘Export Opportunities: Think Germanic Europe’ will bring together some of Europe’s leading experts to share their specialist knowledge of Holland, Belgium and Germany. It will identify the opportunities that are still available despite the current difficulties, provide practical advice on how companies can successfully break into the market and also advise companies on how to position themselves ready for when higher growth returns.
John Bridge OBE, Chief Executive of Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce, said:“Exporters in our region are regularly amongst the first to identify and act upon new markets and that’s why we’re confident they will continue to maximise opportunities in areas other companies are disregarding. Our key message is that when you’re considering new overseas markets don’t overlook our neighbours in Holland, Belgium and Germany. The news headlines may portray a stagnant market but in fact the current situation offers significant opportunities to those companies willing to look a little deeper.”
Guest speakers will include Ben De Smit, Economic & Commercial Counsellor at the Belgium Embassy, Tobias Verlende, Chairman of the German British Chamber of Commerce and Nicolette Wykeman and Andrew Wood from the Netherlands British Chamber of Commerce.
Delegates at the event, which is sponsored by Cambridge International Airport and Flight Centre Cambridge, will also benefit from insight into business culture from UKTI’s cultural and language expert and information on how to access EU services and support from Enterprise Europe Network.
Helen Bosett, who is organising the event with the Chambers’ International Sector, added: “This essential seminar will ensure that the region’s most promising exporters leave with the knowledge and advice they need to identify opportunities that others are missing because they can’t see past the news headlines. It will also ensure companies have the insight and positioning needed to maximise opportunities when confidence returns and spending increases.”
