Cambridgeshire companies get into Action for Addenbrooke's

Three Cambridge-based companies have pledged their support to a new fundraising initiative being launched today by Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (ACT) in aid of Addenbrooke’s and the Rosie Hospitals.

ARM, Strutt & Parker – Cambridge, and Domino Printing Sciences in Bar Hill are amongst the first companies in the region to join Business in Action for Addenbrooke’s, a corporate network that offers companies a range of benefits in return for an annual membership donation. The money raised will be used to fund extra services, equipment and research over and above that which is possible through NHS funding alone, such as life-saving technologies and special touches that really do help patients feel better and give their loved ones much-needed peace of mind.

Companies can choose to join as either a Gold or Silver member for a donation of £1,000 or £250 and will then enjoy a host of business and staff benefits, including invitations to exclusive networking events, staff development through the Corporate Ambassador programme, discounted event tickets, marketing opportunities, and a discounted recruitment package with the Cambridge News.

Vicki Sanderson, Group HR Director of Domino explained, "Domino has been very proud to support Addenbrooke’s Hospital over a number of years in its various fundraising campaigns. Therefore, we are now delighted to have the opportunity to be part of Business in Action for Addenbrooke's which will bring together local businesses to have greater impact in strengthening our local communities. We wish ACT every success with this new networking partnership and we look forward to working with them to achieve even greater results in making a difference for improving medical care and patients' experience’s for our local community and beyond."

Cameron Ewer, Head of Agency at Strutt & Parker was also pleased to be involved, saying, “Strutt & Parker is delighted to be supporting ACT in their new Business in Action for Addenbrooke’s initiative. The heartbeat of Cambridge really is the local community and we hope to be able to support this both professionally and by supporting of local charities. I have witnessed first-hand the excellent service provided by Addenbrooke’s hospital and I am delighted to be able to return the favour in some small way”.

Michelle Gray, Head of Community Fundraising at ACT said, “We have received an amazing amount of interest from companies in the region keen to join Business in Action for Addenbrooke’s and we would welcome talking to any other businesses who would like to work with us in this way.  The initiative provides a great vehicle for companies to meet their CSR objectives and demonstrate support of their staff and the wider community by playing an instrumental part in the development of these wonderful hospitals.”
