Chance to explore Anglia Ruskin at Uni4U

Hundreds of schoolchildren from across the region will visit Anglia Ruskin University’s Cambridge campus this Saturday [24 March] for Uni4U.

The free event, for Years 7-11 and their families, will give youngsters a taste of their local university through an action-packed day of exhibitions and activities.

Uni4U runs from 10am-2pm on Anglia Ruskin’s East Road campus and there will be over 30 different activities on offer including handling reptiles, taking part in a mock law trial and experiencing life working in an operating theatre.

Anglia Ruskin’s Forensic Science department will be setting up their crime scene tent which will allow children to become CSIs.  Participants will get the chance to compare fingerprints and gather evidence as they help the scientists to solve the crime!

Parents will also have the opportunity to discover more about higher education and future career opportunities for their children through a series of talks and Q&A sessions.

Nicola Lumb, Anglia Ruskin’s Outreach & Recruitment Officer, said: “We are really excited to be able to open up the Cambridge campus for young people and their families to come and explore their local university.

“We have a wide range of fun and interactive activities for our visitors to take part in and we hope to encourage them to think about their futures and achieve their full potential.”
