Sophie Dall at ARU has been busy organising the charity event in aid of a little girl called Anna Penman. Anna has a very fragile body as she suffers from leukaemia and SMA - the only known person in the world to be diagnosed with both.
As a result of her conditions, Anna cannot walk or move like her peers and has problems doing the simple day-to-day tasks. In order to give Anna the mobility that she needs, her family are raising funds in order to buy a specially designed and built SnapDragon powerchair from local company Dragonmobility (one of Axiom-e's clients).
The game will raise money for The Turbo Trust, the Great Shelford-based charity which helps people like Anna and many others across the UK get the specialised mobility equipment that they need to live as full a life as possible.
The rugby girls will all be playing dressed up as princesses as Anna loves Disney princesses.
Rugby apart, there will be lots of other things to do as well (probably including a raffle, facepainting, food, quiz and auction). As it will be held at school half-term, it will make a great day out for the family.
Donations of goods as well as finance would be most welcome and are already being offered.
For more details, or to contribute, please see the blog (http://princessrugbyforanna.blogspot.co.uk/) or contact Sophie at inchheigh@hotmail.com. For more about Anna and others like her, visit http://www.justgiving.com/turbo
Please pass the word. The more that is raised, the more help the Turbo Trust will be able to give to people like Anna.
