COEL: constructing calm in crisis

With in-house expertise at hand, the COEL group of commercial interiors specialists is able to guide and partner clients from concept to construction. Although we are in uncertain times, it is a perfect time to undertake planning and preparation that will make a good project a great project.

The company writes:

COEL’s continued commitment to our employees and clients in these exceptional times remains our prime concern. Through safeguarding our staff and adhering to Government guidelines, we have managed to maintain a majority of our sites and operations. By providing consistent support to our staff and adhering to the recommended COVID-19 site procedures, we are proud to have been able to keep our design, estimating and project management teams working, albeit remotely.

We take great pride in the projects we undertake and have recently been involved with a critical government healthcare operation. We have also helped create laboratories for companies involved in the testing and assembling of home testing kits for COVID-19. These projects have enabled us to help others during this crisis and contribute to the bigger picture.

These projects have been urgent and required an immediate response, tact and diplomacy. Our teams were able to be responsive, discreet and effective in meeting the tight deadlines whilst always maintaining consistent high-quality work. Ensuring the clients’ trust in COEL’s ability to complete the task on time and to an excellent standard is paramount.

Meanwhile our design team are developing exciting creative initiatives which include:

  • Styling a show flat and reception area for a new residential apartment block, which will provide much needed additional housing for the Cambridge region.
  • Helping to transform Cambridge Building Society branches into contemporary destinations. The bright open plan area characterising the new look makes the stores vibrant and welcoming.
  • Taking staff from three floors of standard office space and creating one floor of modern, agile working space. This will provide an ergonomic solution to the working layout with bench style desking, ‘touch-down’ points, a central breakout area as well as a quiet lounge for hosting clients and several meeting rooms. This bold step of adopting an agile way of working allows our client a huge saving in rent while maintaining efficiency and collaboration, without compromising on the employees’ needs.

COEL was challenged by a recent heritage project in Oxford to sympathetically complete fit out, furniture and design on a residential Georgian farmhouse, transforming it into sleek, elegant and welcoming headquarters for a health science company. Integrity was crucial in maintaining the period features while providing an entirely contemporary furnishing scheme. This stunning building offers an environment which engages with the employees and elevates the work experience.

Many companies face enormous stress when organising a move, with valuable management being diverted to tasks not connected to their job descriptions or current deadlines. CMS is here to help you, with years of experience of removal and storage as well as moving and installing servers and storing valuables in a secure facility. We can offer the one-stop-shop for a smooth move. We are happy to offer advice for those with the understandable concern about how the current situation may affect their move.

CMS continues to provide building services to commercial and residential customers. They will ensure that everything from water and heating to ventilation systems work as they should whenever they are needed.

Our team is at hand to roll out any projects. Although we are in uncertain times, it is a perfect time to undertake planning and preparation that will make a good project a great project. With the in-house expertise at hand the COEL group is able to guide and partner clients from concept to construction.

COEL continues to provide constant commitment to our clients and customers.
