I was told by a serial entrepreneur this week that if your foundations are solid, you have a robust brand, and concrete reputation, you will succeed, however bumpy the road may get.
The reality is that running any business is not without its challenges. In a recent episode of Cambridge Tech Podcast, Rebecca Simmons PhD, MBA, COO of Riverlane, told us that running a business is not for the faint-hearted and she’s right about that.
I have huge respect for all those companies that ‘serve’ the amazing tech and entrepreneurial businesses within the Cambridge ecosystem – those that are listed in today’s Business Weekly newspaper New Year Honours list – the lawyers, accountants, funders, innovation spaces, and of course, the image makers.
I am / we are incredibly honoured to top the list of image makers for the fourth consecutive year. Doing the right thing, at the right time, for our clients is absolutely what we are about.
When I first started cofinitive back in 2014, I said then, and still believe, that there is enough business for everyone, and this New Year Honours list is testament to that.
Having worked in marketing – in startups like PIPEX to behemoths like IBM – for just shy of thirty years, I have deep admiration for the other companies on the list. For example, Lorna Cuddon and the team at Zyme Communications Ltd lead the way with their work in the life science sector. I remember whilst at UUNET, we hired Rachel Holdsworth of Holdsworth Associates as our agency of choice, and they consistently maintain absolute steadfastness within the ecosystem. And, as it says in the article, it’s great to see some new entrants appearing on the listings too.
Collectively, we have impact, indeed we create impact for others. And we should all be celebrating that.
At cofinitive, we will continue to do what we do – put companies in front of the right audiences, at the right time, with the right message. If that’s something you are looking for, please contact us and let’s make some impact in 2024.
Thanks to Tony Quested and Jamie Quested. You can find the listings in the e-paper.
