Compare pay and benefits by taking part in Salary Survey

How much should you be paying your staff to compete favourably in the Cambridge employment market? Find out the latest by participating in Cambridge Network's Learning Collaboration (LC) Cambridge Salary and Benefits Survey.

Run on behalf of LC by Alan Jones & Associates, the survey is designed to provide organisations with access to up-to-date information on pay and benefits for a wide range of benchmark jobs in the local area.

Participants receive a customised survey report which feeds back your own input data to show your position in relation to the marketplace. In addition, an online results service allows you to look more closely at the survey and see how you compare with the group. Online information is updated monthly.

The survey is strictly confidential.  Companies are not identified against salary data and it is not possible to identify individual salaries paid by individual companies. All inputs are validated to ensure you get the most accurate information available. Functions in the survey cover the full spectrum and range, for example, from administration/secretarial, assembly/packaging and customer service, to design, IT, laboratory, new graduates and project management.

Additional functions in the survey are particularly suited to organisations in the Cambridge area, including

  • research scientists
  • software engineering
  • embedded software engineering
  • electronics design engineering
  • manufacturing engineering
  • mechanical design engineering
  • software development.

As part of your subscription to the Salary and Benefits Survey, you can participate in a free Cambridge area benefits review covering pension schemes, medical insurance, sick pay, holidays, life assurance, PHI, etc. You will also be invited to take part, free, in the Alan Jones HR policy reports. Organisations in all locations and industries are invited to participate, providing a broad review of current practice in areas including:

  • company cars/car allowances
  • maternity & childcare policy
  • redundancy policy
  • shift & overtime policy (including standby & call-out).

The survey is independent of LC to ensure complete confidentiality of input data. It can be paid for through the LC training units scheme or invoice through LC.  Rates vary by size of organisation (determined by number of employees).

Current survey members include major employers such as Abcam, ARM, CSR, Domino UK, Napp Pharmaceuticals Group, Philips Research, Plastic Logic, Red Gate Software, Velocix and Xaar.

About the Learning Collaboration

Are you making the most of the wide range of quality courses available on your doorstep through Cambridge Network’s Learning Collaboration (LC)?

LC works on behalf of Cambridge Network members to organise, purchase and share training and management development opportunities. That means all members benefit from economies of scale, gaining improved access to high quality professional training courses at value-for-money prices.

Network membership means you automatically have the right to book on to any LC course at any time, while some categories of membership actually include LC training units.
