Conference Cambridge chooses Cancer Research UK as charity of the year

The official, free venue-finding service for Cambridge University and its Colleges as well as hotels and other unique properties in the city, has named its chosen charity for 2015. Conference Cambridge is partnering with Cancer Research UK to provide support in terms of providing venues.

Conference Cambridge will  also support Cancer Research UK by raising money through a series of internal events and assisting local fundraising groups with organisational tasks for some larger projects.

Kelly Vickers, Managing Director of Conference Cambridge said: “We have chosen Cancer Research UK as our charity for 2015 as its work is close to our hearts. All members of our team have been touched by cancer in some way over the last few years and so we are committed to the work it does and the difference it makes to patients and their families.

“The charity is located at Addenbrooke’s Hospital which has strong connections with Cambridge University and we are looking forward to working with them on projects over the coming year.”

Cancer Research UK is the world’s leading charity, dedicated to beating cancer through research into over 200 types of the disease. Its work has saved millions of lives by discovering new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer, with the result that survival rates have doubled over the past 40 years. With a vision to bring forward the day when all cancers are curable, Cancer Research UK funds 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses across the UK.
