Conscious Communications gives Cambridgeshire County Day the Royal treatment

Cambridge-based public relations and marketing agency, Conscious Communications, dedicated over 730 hours of pro-bono support to deliver the first ever Cambridgeshire County Day, which was the county’s largest Platinum Jubilee celebration, with over 6,000 people in attendance, including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridgeshire.

The Conscious Communications team

Equating to around £50,000 of work, the Conscious Communications team supported with event planning and on the day event logistics, media relations, copywriting, social media management, as well as creating a dedicated website and designing the visual ID for the day.

Reflecting on the Day, Alison Taylor, Managing Director at Conscious Communications, commented: “It has truly been an honour for our team to work alongside The Lieutenancy of Cambridge to deliver the once-in-a-lifetime event, Cambridgeshire County Day. Together with the Day’s Organising Committee, we built an incredible event, which gave the County’s corporates the opportunity to inspire the next generation of students alongside celebrating Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

“Being involved in an event like this truly encapsulates what our agency stands for. We believe that having a positive impact on the local community is not only is a good thing to do, but the best way to do business too. So, we put corporate social responsibility at the heart of our business – it is part and parcel of what we do, and we are committed to using our public relations and marketing expertise as a force for good.”

The day saw a melting pot of 120 of Cambridgeshire’s best businesses exhibit at the Best of Cambridgeshire Showcase, alongside a variety of live performances and also played host to a number of impressive static displays.

Chairman of the Organising Committee, Chris Parkhouse DL said: “Conscious Communications made a huge contribution to Cambridgeshire County Day. Sophie, Elle, Joanna and Zoe used their knowledge, skill and experience to guide us on PR and media relations, marketing and communications, event management, brand development and much more. Conscious Communications offered us unlimited pro bono support for a year and in doing so helped us develop and deliver a highly successful Cambridgeshire County Day. Conscious Communications became key members of the Organising Committee and their contribution to Cambridgeshire County Day was absolutely critical. Thank you, Conscious Communications!”

Funds raised from the event will go towards the new world-leading Cambridge-based Regional Children’s Hospital and the Cambridgeshire Community Foundation Lord Lieutenant’s Fund.
