Held at Bidwells’ Cambridge headquarters, the speakers included Jay Mehta, Solicitor at Howes Percival who provided practical advice on how planning permissions may be secured robustly with minimal delay and risk of legal challenge from increasingly litigious objectors.
Neil Waterson Partner at Bidwells highlighted how EIA can have a huge impact on developments. He explored the latest proposals to change EIA screening thresholds and underlined how taking early advice on the EIA Directive can be crucial to a smooth-running project.
James Alflatt (pictured), Partner at Bidwells, introduced the session. He said: “With imminent changes to EIA legislation, we feel it is important to spell out how these will affect developers. The clear message is that embedding EIA expertise at the earliest possible opportunity in the planning process will result in fewer delays and costs as the project progresses”.
The next Bidwells/Howes Percival EIA seminar will be held in Milton Keynes in April.
