Device Developer – a new UK web portal for developers of intelligent systems and devices

The website will also generate a monthly newsletter highlighting new products, events and jobs.

The website has been sponsored by several key players in the embedded systems marketplace. These include German debug tool company Lauterbach, UK computer board manufacturer Blue Chip Technology and embedded systems development consultants Pebble Bay.

"The creation of the website has been driven by the need for a UK website dedicated to this sector of engineering," said Richard Blackburn, website creator. "The development of electronic devices and intelligent systems is big business in the UK, it is an area of engineering where we excel and lead much of the world."

The Device Developer website has been developed to enable companies to post their news and information directly on-line.  The website will cover a diverse range of subjects such as hardware design, enclosure design, PCB design, realtime OS's, debugging tools, test and manufacturing.  There will soon be an associated Facebook page and Twitter page, which will also feature lead stories from the website.

"The entire purpose of the website is to give industry vendors much needed additional web presence within the UK," said Richard Blackburn. "At the moment there are few magazines or other outlets for this type of news. We think there will be many technical marketing professionals who will be excited to learn about Device Developer. "I suspect it will take a little while to catch on, but I am very sure that the demand is out there and this time next year we'll have good traffic figures and happy sponsors."
