Domino elves bring early Christmas cheer to Cambridge school

Staff from Domino Printing at Bar Hill made Christmas come early at a Cambridge school for children with special educational needs or learning difficulties.

The team from Domino Printing sported seasonal costumes to make the annual visit to Castle School, dressed as Santa and his team of elves and bringing presents and cakes for 80 children.

Sharon Viccars from Domino said: “This has become an annual tradition at Domino which is enjoyed by both the children and our own staff, dressed in elf costumes. In the run up to the visit, we held wrapping sessions over the lunch period so that there was a gift for every child and our staff did an amazing job, baking seasonally-decorated cup cakes too.”

The initiative is part of Domino’s year-round programme of supporting the communities in which it is located.

Liz West, Assistant Headteacher at Castle School added: “Domino’s Santa and Elves bring a special touch of magic to our Castle Christmas. Many of our students are not able to access a traditional Santa’s grotto and so this makes Domino’s gift an extra special opportunity for them and their families."

Castle School, which is based in Courtney Way in Cambridge, has 185 pupils aged three to 19 years. All pupils have a Statement of Special Educational Needs or Education Health and Care Plan for significant, moderate, severe or complex learning difficulties.
