Employees are encouraged to identify organisations through the company’s donations requests scheme and many individual fundraising efforts are supported, with sponsorship or match-funding for the total raised.
Examples of giving to the local community close to its HQ in Bar Hill are sports teams, local arts and photography clubs and hospices located in the region, including Arthur Rank in Cambridge and the Hospice of St Francis in Hertfordshire.
Employee fundraising events, which have raised more than £15,000 for different charities, have included: Hadrian’s Wall Ultramarathon in aid of Just 4 Children; Cancer Research UK Race For Life; Brighton Marathon for Crohn’s & Colitis UK; Macmillan Mighty Hike Marathon Walk; Leeds Marathon for Motor Neurone Disease Association; and Land’s End to John O’Groats Virtual Walk in aid of Petals, the baby loss counselling charity.
Seasonal initiatives during December saw a global fundraiser for Save The Children’s Christmas Jumper Day and a visit by Domino’s Santa and Elves to Castle School in Cambridge to sprinkle seasonal magic and deliver gifts for the pupils with special educational needs.
Sharon Viccars, Domino Internal Communications Manager, said: “Supporting charities both on our doorstep and nationally has always been an important part of our culture and never more so than during 2023 when we know many do not receive regular funding and need donations in order to survive.
“We are very proud of our employees who once again have completed fundraising challenges in their own time to support causes which, in some cases, have touched their own lives. It is a privilege to match-fund such initiatives where we can through our Charity Committee.”
