As part of its ongoing purpose of celebrating and promoting the fantastic employers and places to work in our region, Pure is sponsoring the Employer of the Year category. This award recognises the organisation which has successfully engaged its employees by inspiring, motivating, developing and rewarding them. It celebrates a business which has ultimately created a culture where employees are encouraged to work together to achieve business objectives within a positive working environment.
The 2018 awards, run by Cambridge News, mark the 25th anniversary of the event which has become firmly established as a key highlight within the Cambridge business calendar.
David Culley, Director at Pure, said: “Since the Cambridge Business Excellence Awards were first established we’ve seen winners go on to achieve national and international success and to also successfully use the title to raise their profile and to attract new staff.
“We’re encouraging businesses not to miss out on the chance of winning an accolade and reminding them that there are significant business benefits to going through the application process itself, let alone being crowned a winner. The judging criteria for business awards is a benchmark of what leading experts believe businesses should be achieving if they are to be celebrated as outstanding examples of success. Taking the time to sit down and find relevant examples of how your organisation meets the criteria not only helps identify what your business has already achieved but also any potential areas for further improvement.
“Going on to win or to be shortlisted for an award is a hugely motivating experience for all staff. It’s also an excellent endorsement for the business, helps to distinguish organisations from their competitors and really helps to enhance employer brand. The Employer of the Year Award, in particular, promotes organisations as attractive places to work, which will inevitably help to attract future talent.”
Previous winners of the Employer of the Year Award include Bidwells, Cambscuisine, Mills and Reeve, Cambridge Building Society and Cambridge Consultants. The awards also feature a wide range of other categories for organisations of all sizes and industries to enter. These include awards for Business of the Year, Social Entrepreneurship, Business Innovation, High Growth and Business Person of the Year.
Nominations can be uploaded online at Cambridge News. The deadline to enter is Monday 22 January and the awards will be presented on 22nd March 2018 at a Gala Dinner to be held at the Great Hall at King’s College.
